a late follow-up to #594 (prompted by https://twitter.com/alastc/status/904988455440183296): I understand the rationale of keeping scan (and also grid) in the spec, but is it perhaps worth adding an informative/non-normative note to the spec (in https://www.w3.org/TR/2017/CR-mediaqueries-4-20170905/#scan and https://www.w3.org/TR/2017/CR-mediaqueries-4-20170905/#grid) about the fact that, at least to my knowledge, there are no devices/UAs currently out there that report anything interesting/different here other than scan: progressive and grid: 0 ?

This is sorta-kinda implemented in a way that's meaningless. It appears
to have preserved as a convenience to spec authors:

w3c/csswg-drafts#594
w3c/csswg-drafts#1778
