The Privileged Contexts spec notes:

Certain web platform features that have a distinct impact on a user’s security or privacy should be available for use only in privileged contexts.

... and explicitly notes sensors as one of the features that should be available for use only in privileged contexts.

Actions:

  • assess the state of the privileged contexts work,
  • see what are the implications on the sensor API design, if any,
  • see what are the implications for the spec itself, if any.
  • include boilerplate text in the instantiation steps.
