Error processing in SVG 1.1 had a chapter in Appendix F: Implementation Requirements. Part of that was a note on handling animations:
If the document has animations, the animations shall stop at the point at which an error is encountered and the visual presentation of the document shall reflect the animated status of the document at the point the error was encountered.

This sentence has neither made its way into SVG 2 Conformance Criteria, nor is it mentioned in SVG Animations 2. Instead, there are still some passages where an invalid attribute value brings a document fragment in error. They still link to https://svgwg.org/svg2-draft/implnote.html#ErrorProcessing, for example here or here and do not lead to any relevant information.
I could not find any documentation of that change in the Changes appendix of either of the two specifications.
