Capitalization - title and headings

In English, titles of documents and sometimes headings use headline-style capitalization.

For the Spanish translation, capitalize only the first word of titles and headings. Exception: always capitalize nouns and adjectives referring to entities, working groups, publications, official documents, etc.

More specifically:

  • W3C standards are official documents/publications. All the nouns and adjectives must be translated (rule 4.18). Example: “Pautas de Accesibilidad para el Contenido Web”.
  • W3C working groups are organization entities. All the nouns and adjectives must be translated (rule 4.14). Example: “Grupo de Trabajo de Educación y Difusión (EOWG)”.
  • WAI website documents are informative articles. Only the first word of the title/headings is capitalized (rule 4.17). Exceptions happen when the title contains words that should be capitalized, like proper nouns, official documents, or entities. Examples: “Introducción a la accesibilidad web”, “Introducción a las Pautas de Accesibilidad para el Contenido Web”.

As stated in the General Glosssary, capitalize W3C terms.
