The proposed introduction says:

W3C processes promote fairness, responsiveness, and progress: all facets of the W3C mission. This document describes the processes W3C follows in pursuit of its mission.

'mission' is not linked, but the W3C Mission page exists. However, it does not contain the words 'fair' or 'fairness', and the only instance of a word rooted in 'response' is in 'voice responsive systems'. 'Progress' is absent as well.

I'd suggest dropping this text; otherwise, it might put undue weight on some factors in people's understanding of the mission.

I'll note that this phrasing isn't new. I have no strong opinion about whether it should be changed, but in any case that is not a difference introduced by the proposed process 2021, so it doesn't need to be handled as a regression to be urgently fixed before adopting p2021

Makes sense. I think the goal is to align it with the vision work.

deleting "in pursuit of its mission" would seem fine by me, it adds nothing to the document.
