Init flow:

  • split two roles of card issuer (usually, a bank) and TSP (can be either card schemes or bank)
  • token is created (and sent to device) before (optional) user authentication
  • after user auth, token is activated

Use flow:

  • change transaction "token" to "cryptogram"

- updated terminology used for roles (bank~=card issuer, added TSP)
- clarified the token verification, activation, and when the provisioning actually happens

@alexdown (Alessio Basso) - I need to add you to the W3C user tracker to match your commits with your W3C profile (to ensure contributors have made the necessary IPR commitments).

As I don't see you on the on the WG participant list I need to know if you are member of any other groups and already have a profile.

thanks @adrianhopebailie , I didn't know what the process was... I follow the webpayments-ig mailing list, and came across the list of scenarios in the wiki. I saw I could contribute amending a few details, and did it. I am creating a w3c account, can you link to more details about what "the necessary IPR commitments" are? thanks a lot.

@ianbjacobs the account creation form asks for my organisation affiliation. My employer is not in the list. What are the implications of mentioning my employer in the form? My work is related to mobile payments, but the W3C web payments initiative is not part of my job duties...

@alexdown,

Getting a W3C account implies no obligations on your employer.

For patent policy reasons we are attentive to contributions to Recommendation track documents in particular. These suggestions related to our flows do not directly relate to our Recommendation track documents, so there is no issue.

I'd be happy to discuss all of this further with you by email or phone if you prefer. You can reach me at ij@w3.org.

Thanks!
