“Thing Provider Data” is defined as an asset to protect but includes “configuration data”. It was not clear if that was the Thing’s manufacturing configuration or user configuration.

That referred to whatever thing provider configuration might be stored on a device, like for example data that Google Home might need to store, like address of remove cloud services etc.

User configuration would formally belong to the user's data assets I guess since the owner is user, but in cases when user sets some user-configurable settings in Google Home it is not so clear where to classify this data.

Good point to think about and to clarify in the document!

The #90 addresses this by clarifying the user vs. provider configurations
