dev-python/pivy-0.6.4 fails to compile #42
Comments
Hi @Bajdi, thanks for reporting this. The ebuild should be used with >=SoQt-1.6.0a* and >=coin-4.0.0a*. I'm going to update the ebuild. I'm not sure, whether this version is even supposed to built against coin-3 and SoQt-1.5 by upstream. Btw. where did you get the SoQt-1.5.0-r1 ebuild? I don't have this version in any of my repos. Can you please try to update to >=coin-4.0.0a and >=SoQt-1.6.0a and see if it still fails? |
Tried compiling coin-4.0.0a but did not get far:
|
@Bajdi we had this bug in the -9999 ebuild, now it looks like it's also in the 4.0.0a* ebuild. |
I was able to emerge coin-4.0.0a_pre20180416 from the official tree. I then emerged pivy-0.6.4 using the --nodeps option. I then tried to emerge freecad but got the following error:
|
@Bajdi There's no error message in your quote. Can you please post some more of the output? |
@Bajdi Please try again, using my updated ebuild for coin, SoQt and pivy |
Updated the overlay and recompiled coin, SoQT and pivy. But still can't compile Freecad :(
|
Looks like it doesn't find opencascade libraries. Do you use opencascade from my overlay or from official tree? If it's from official tree, please try the one from my overlay. It's updated to the one in the official tree. Also if you don't already, please ensure, you are using vtk-8*, I never tested this with vtk-7 or vtk-6 and don't know if it works. I need to update my opencascade and freecad ebuilds to depend on vtk-8. Which USE flags do you use for freecad, opencascade and vtk? BTW, I'm currently compiling freecad to check the updated ebuilds. It's at ~60% now and I didn't get the error. |
Ah, I was using vtk-7 from the official tree. Switched to vtk-8 from your overlay and now I was able to successfully compile Freecad :) |
Thanks for reporting! :) |
got the same issue... is there any way to make vtk-8 installable automagically as a dependency? |
also I have |
oh... there is no SoQt installed. Any way to get this package as a dependency? Would be nice to not install it manually... |
even with installed SoQt I'm getting:

@kamikaze I'm not able to reproduce the issue you get. Could you please post the output of

That works also for me. |
It works for me, too. |
Thanks @qinq-net this seems to solve the issue. The patch will be in one of the next updates. |
Thanks to QÍN Yuhào who came up with the fix! Also synchronizes the live and versioned ebuild somewhat. Closes: #42 Suggested-By: QÍN Yuhào <qinyh18@mails.tsinghua.edu.cn> Package-Manager: Portage-2.3.67, Repoman-2.3.14 Signed-off-by: Bernd Waibel <waebbl@gmail.com>
Hi, I'm trying to install Freecad via your overlay. But compiling pivy-0.6.4 fails.
