Expectation:

A unit set to Hold Position when ordered to Patrol should continue following its patrol pattern regardless if it engages a target.
A unit set to Pursue when ordered to Patrol should only resume its patrol order once there are no targets to engage.

How it works currently:

A unit ordered to patrol will stop moving regardless of any other movement commands if it engages a target.
If set back and forth between hold fire and fire-at-will/return fire or the target is destroyed, The unit will resume its patrol order.

This behavior makes sense when the unit is set to Guard as once targets have been destroyed/driven away the unit resumes its patrol, For the Pursue and Hold Position commands that behavior doesn't make sense or is very useful.

The ability to combine the patrol command with the movement commands for a more specific behavior is somewhat implied by the unit command menu not deselecting any of the movement commands whenever the Patrol command is selected.
