Note how when a header is closed, the rounded header bar becomes non-rounded and attaches itself to the following header bar with an animation. It's just a tiny thing but I really like it - when all headers are closed, the menu has a super clean look:

Also, note the added some subtle rings around menu icons to create a more unified look.

When an expandable menu block is opened, the icons also enlarged and the expandable item forms a kind of subheader:
