Unfortunately, The optimization was assuming user's If there's an urgency to release the cron package, I'm pretty confident this can be shipped without affecting prod, given the only cron job using the updated code is currently disabled. |

As mentioned in this comment, the release is blocked by a problem with performance at DB layer. Given:
we can trigger the release without affecting prod, and release the actual fix in a follow up PR. |
