Browser / Version: Firefox 124.0
Operating System: Windows 10
Tested Another Browser: Yes Chrome

Problem type: Video or audio doesn't play
Description: Media controls are broken or missing
Steps to Reproduce:
Meet.google doesn't let you select non-default devices for audio output. On chrome, I am able to set up my browser to default play through one device, but meet.google players through a separate device. On firefox, it will only allow me to select the system default audio device as audio output.

I have also verified that the setsinkid.enabled = TRUE (although I also tested it set to False)

Browser Configuration
  • None

Thank you for reporting this issue, I was able to reproduce it. On Firefox Release and Nightly the audio output list does not display non-default speakers. This does not reproduce on Chrome.

Tested on:
• Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 126.0a1 (2024-03-31) / Firefox Release 124.0.1 / Chrome 123.0.6312.86
• Operating System: Windows 10

Notes:

  1. Reproducible on both Firefox Release and Nightly
  2. Not reproducible on Chrome.
  3. Reproducible regardless of settings of Enhanced Tracking Protection

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Enter a Google Meet call while having alternative audio output devices connected to your laptop.
  2. Click on the arrow next to the speaker icon.
  3. Observe the audio output options.

Moving to Needsdiagnosis.
