URL: https://patrickhlauke.github.io/touch/pen-tracker/

Browser / Version: Firefox 124.2.0
Operating System: Android 14 One UI 6.1
Tested Another Browser: Yes Chrome

Problem type: Something else
Description: Pen Input does not work on Android
Steps to Reproduce:
When going to this page (and other pages using pen input) on Firefox for Android and attempting to use the pen of my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, it does not receive pen events, meaning that sites that support pen input cannot use it. This does not occur on Chrome for Android nor Firefox for Windows 11 (Surface Pro 9 with Surface Pen)

I had someone test with the same device, same Android version, except that they already updated to Firefox 125. It works fine for them, and it also works fine with other colleagues with different Android devices. Unfortunately, I don't know how to debug this other than that - if we can't reproduce this ourselves, we can't look into this. :(

You could try just clearing all Firefox data by uninstalling the app and re-installing it. Note that will delete everything - your history, saved passwords, everything. If you're signed into a Firefox Account, you can use the Sync feature to first upload the data, and then download it again.

Sorry, we can't do more here... :(

Oh, actually, update: internally, we found a Firefox engineer who has a device-combination where this is not working! I'm reopening this as we investigate.

The linked bug refers to Windows, does it also track the bug occurring under Android?

We should probably have a separate bug for Android, but for now I'll handle that in that bug.
