Browser / Version: Firefox 74.0
Operating System: Fedora
Tested Another Browser: Yes Chrome

Problem type: Video or audio doesn't play
Description: The video or audio does not play
Steps to Reproduce:
Screen sharing does not work.

When joining a meeting, and hitting "present", permissions requests pop up -- good. Screen sharing should ask permission.

A dialog pops up for which screen. Good. This laptop has a second screen attached.

Screen sharing starts, but no other participants can see the screen.

Thanks for the report, but I'm not able to reproduce the issue.

Tested with:
Browser / Version: Firefox Nightly 76.0a1 (2020-03-31)
Operating System: MacOS 10.15.5, Linux Mint 19

Reporter, could you please update to the latest Firefox version, and give it another try?
Also could you try clearing cache/data/cookies, disable Ad-blocker (if available), or use a clean profile, and check again?

I've tried FF 74 and FF nightly with a clean profile.

I can only share a window, not a screen (that's OK), and only on X11, not on Wayland (that's not OK) on Linux. So here's a summary of what I've found:

On FF 74 sharing has no preview. On FF nightly sharing has a preview. You can preview what others can see in the permissions dialog. I assume this is a new feature in Nightly.

On Wayland you can only share the entire screen. You cannot share just one window. On X11 you have a choice of a Window, and then you are presented with a window list.

On X11, sharing a window appears to work.

On Wayland and on X11, sharing the entire screen does not work. Instead you share a black rectangle with a mouse cursor. The mouse is bound by the rectangle of Firefox -- not bound by the screen size.

Side note: all options result in a red share screen permission. I'm used to red permissions meaning not working (red camera permission, for example, means camera is shared but not working)

@softvision-sergiulogigan

Could this one be a Fedora-specific issue, @karlcow (or @denschub) ?

I am running Fedora. FF74 is a RPM. Nightly is a tarball from Mozilla.

@softvision-sergiulogigan

It actually is.
I'm closing this one in favor of the Bugzilla one.

Thanks!
