This is the human-readable summary of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license.

You are free:

  • to Share — to copy, distribute and transmit the work
  • to Remix — to adapt the work

Copyrights

Material on the WebPlatform.org site is meant for public use. Content original to the site is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY 3.0). That means you are free to share and remix, with attribution to the source. To attribute WebPlatform.org content, include a link such as "derived from material on WebPlatform.org" and a link to the specific page.

Some material on the site comes from other sources that have made it available under a share-alike license such as CC-BY-SA. In that case, WebPlatform.org maintains the share-alike term, meaning that you may use the material under the same terms: "If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under the same or similar license to this one." Contributing

When you register to edit at WebPlatform.org, you agree to the Web Platform Documentation Site Contributor Agreement, agreeing to post only material you own or have rights to post and share. Material you contribute will be licensed CC-BY for others to use and remix.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you are or represent a copyright owner and material on WebPlatform.org infringes your copyrights, you may file a notification of claimed infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

A notification of claimed infringement must be a written communication that includes:

  • A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material -- the page URL, including a more specific reference if only a portion of the page is claimed to be infringing.
  • Information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an electronic mail address at which the complaining party may be contacted.
  • A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Repeat Infringers

It is site policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of repeat infringers.
