Currently the user can deploy a single certificate to all bindings (on all sites) with no hostname if:

  • Deployment mode is set to 'All Sites'
  • 'Matching any of..' has 'Binding hostname not specified..' is checked

On a server where many websites are configured using IP address only (or All Unassigned), i.e. with no hostname in bindings, this will have the (potentially) catastrophic effect of updating all bindings with the current certificate, which is unlikely to be the desired outcome.

We should provide a warning in the user interface to this effect.
