Is there a way to share templates for collaborative editing between several users?

This is super important imo, would love to see someone tackle this one.

Well, if someone would like to try, and has created backup of Wekan first, maybe this could work with workaround, I don't know does it work, or does it break something: When someone has created template, ask that user to add someone to same template, use Admin Panel / People / People / Impersonate user to add yourself to that users template board.

How is the progress here? On the roadmap the issue is scheduled to 31.05.2021 which was two weeks ago. Can we aspect a solution soon?

I'm currently creating high level big picture at 50k feet. I also have a lot of paperwork before being able to come back to detail level like Shared templates.

In today's soon to be released WeKan v5.89 there is at Add Board popup now visible checkbox to create template. That is only necessary if template board is not automatically created when creating new user, like for example with OAuth/LDAP login.

If creating Templates board is needed, someone can try adding new Templates board with name Templates.

At All Boards page there is now visible Templates boards that have white border. If that is not at first visible, click:

1. Right top your username / Templates
2. Right top you username / All Boards

TODO:

• Make possible to use all templates at all Templates Boards where user is member of Template board. Not only the one Template board that is in user profile.
• Make possible to delete all empty Templates Boards
• Make unnecessary to add Templates boards for every user, by having Templates link show all Shared Templates, and create new Shared Template board only when necessary
• If possible, show Shared Templates at different Template Containers page, not at All Boards page
• Or, if Shared Templates page needs to be at All Boards page, maybe make possible to filter those similar like Teams/Orgs

A initial feature could be "curated templates" created by admins for common uses.
For example, a board with "Backlog", "To do", "Doing" and "Done" board

Do you mean templates shared to some Organization or Team ?

Templates that different people can use. If possible, the people who are members of the board template. But it would also be possible via a team.

Not willing to add more pressure; just wanted to know if this feature was soon to ship or if we should consider a workaround.

Btw, for people who can't wait and need card templates, create a card that users can copy/duplicate.
