[OTHER] Contextual menus replacing Mega Menu - Uncaught TypeError: subElm is null

When is the Mega Menu going to go away? and How?

We've tested removing the "Mega Menu" using wet-boew 4.0.50.1 gcweb theme v10.5.5, this results in an 'subElm' exception on theme-gcweb/js/theme.js ,

crashes the Share this page widget. We've noticed that the AEM canada.ca root domain site has already added the gc contextual footers live, however has not yet removed the mega menu, are there plans to remove this? Is there a patch to wet-boew that we can use to allow the removal of the Mega Menu without a subElm javascript exception?

This isn't a WET-BOEW issue. Should be moved to GCWeb, as this is specific to GCWeb theme.
