Add Wikidata id to exercise objects #449
Comments
Moreover, it would be nice if certain content could be migrated from Wger to Wikidata directly, so that there's one central place to contribute and get this information. The primary and secondary muscles would be a good start, and there's already the attribute target muscle for primary muscles. Any missing properties could be proposed to Wikidata — the process for that is relatively straightforward. |
If I've understood it correctly, this is only for the data structure itself right? |
@rolandgeider This issue concerns only the data structure of Exercises, yes. In my newer comment, I'm thinking that perhaps in the future, attributes like primary and secondary muscles could be removed from Exercises and fetched directly from Wikidata. That's more of a possible future, though, and not the main topic of this issue. |
ok, then I got it :) We could definitely get some inspiration from wikidata, but I'll put this in the back burner, let's see that we do the sync with the open food database first |
Wikidata is the world's biggest open-source wiki for structured content. As such, it contains useful structured information about exercises not available in Wger, including links to the relevant Wikipedia articles in all languages.
It'd be useful if a Wikidata id was added as a property to the Exercise class.
