# Webium

Webium is a Page Object pattern implementation library for Python (http://martinfowler.com/bliki/PageObject.html).

It allows you to extend WebElement class to your custom controls like Link, Button and group them as pages.

Main classes are:

- webium.Find
- webium.Finds
- webium.BasePage

Basic usage example:

```python
from selenium.webdriver.common.by import By
from selenium.webdriver.remote.webelement import WebElement
from webium.controls.link import Link
from webium.driver import get_driver
from webium import BasePage, Find, Finds
class GooglePage(BasePage):
input = Find(by=By.NAME, value='q')
button = Find(by=By.NAME, value='btnK')
def __init__(self):
super(GooglePage, self).__init__(url='http://www.google.com')
class ResultItem(WebElement):
link = Find(Link, By.XPATH, './/h3/a')
class ResultsPage(BasePage):
stat = Find(by=By.ID, value='resultStats')
results = Finds(ResultItem, By.XPATH, '//div/li')
if __name__ == '__main__':
home_page = GooglePage()
home_page.open()
home_page.input.send_keys('Page Object')
home_page.button.click()
results_page = ResultsPage()
print 'Results summary: %s' % results_page.stat.text
for item in results_page.results:
print item.link.text
get_driver().quit()
```

BasePage
========
Page is the main concept of Page Object pattern.
In order to create your pages you should inherit ``webium.base_page.BasePage``.

.. literalinclude:: ../examples/2_base_page.py

url
---

If your page has static url you can specify it in ``__init__``.
After that you can use ``open()`` method to open your page.

.. literalinclude:: ../examples/3_base_page_with_url.py

driver
------

Pages should have some ``WebDriver`` instance in order to manipulate browser.
By default Webium will create the instance of ``WebDriver`` class specified in ```webium.settings.driver_class``.
If you want to get the instance of the the driver you can call ``webium.driver.get_driver()`` method.

``driver`` parameter in ``BasePage`` gives you an ability to handle WebDriver instance by yourself.

Containers
==========

When you are specifying your classes you can perform search within them.
Using this feature you can narrow search and handle dynamic pages without complex XPath.

In order to use within your custom objects just declare ``Find`` or ``Finds``
within your classes the same way as they are declared within page objects.

Consider the page with the following DOM structure:

.. image:: ./_static/containers.png

In order to perform search within each item in the list we can do the following:

.. literalinclude:: ../examples/10_containers.py
