I scanned the computer in search of possible malware
the CPU usage hits 100% at times and there's one single service that takes up a lot of RAM.
not sure why is this happening because I started experiencing this for a couple of days day now

I would be interested in seeing the memory allocations made by that process, sorted by largest, as well as the call stack of any thread with "cycles delta" above 1 billion. This information can be shown by clicking on the process and viewing the "Memory" and "Threads" tabs. Apparently this does not happen in --no-sandbox mode.

the CPU fan speed seems to be at idle all the time even though the CPU reaches 100% usage

here you go. 👇

Are you watching a lot of videos? That seems to cause high memory use for me.

No I'm not but this has nothing to do with watching videos.
if I leave the browser open for hours while sleeping for example it will keep eating up RAM like an hungry dog including all RAM available on the pagefile.sys
