GPU compositing being forced off (Windows 7) #230
Comments
This was done because of widespread reports of freezing and instability on Windows 7. This was the best I could do. I am trying to find the exact cause of the instability and then GPU compositing will be restored. I can assure you that the next major release 122 will have a definitive fix for the instability, whether it come from upstream or not. |
Ok good to know |
Can you try borrowing few files from vivaldi such as: |
Hey, im mostly using the latest vivaldi (chrome 108) as it's still working perfectly fine but often check new supermium releases
I noticed that in latest supermium 121 (with hotifx), GPU compositing is being forced off
I am running on GTX 750TI wich is still supported by nvidia so i doubt chrome is blocking it, tried to enable the "ignore GPU blocklist" flag but didn't changed anything
On vivaldi/108 it's on:
Is it a currently known limit/bug ?
PS: is it possible for you to restore the "Enable Raw Draw" flag ? it bring quite nice performance improvements, and for some reasons it's no longer there (and not enabled by default as reported by chrome://gpu/) i had to enable it by adding --enable-features=RawDraw to my shortcut.
