TROUBLESHOOTING

If after keypress nothing happens:

Check daemon status - systemctl status acpid.service

  • Then, if daemon inactive:
    • Enable autostart - systemctl enable acpid.service
    • Start it now - systemctl start acpid.service
  • If daemon active:
    • Check keypress detect work - acpi_listen
    • Then press some FN or VAIO keys, terminal must show ACPI events
    • If events doesn't shows up - that is acpid problem
    • If events shows up, but nothing happens:
      • Open /etc/acpi/events/sony-laptop
      • Replace sony/hotkey SNY5001:00 by acpi_listen output after keypress
      • Open /etc/acpi/actions/sony-laptop.sh
      • Replace ACPI event codes by acpi_listen outputs after non-working keypreses
