EDIT: Never mind, I'm an idiot and thought ⦸ was supposed to be the non-breaking character...
I'm following the tip here but it does not render as a space in Alacritty. It looks just the same as the character ⦸. It works as expected in xterm, looking like a regular space. Do you know the cause for this? In my .zshrc I just have PS1="$ ⦸" for the sake of testing--does your prompt do anything like set the last character to be the color of the terminal background (which I suppose I can do as a workaround)?
