Summary and purpose

It is proposed to add four entries to BUFR Code Table 0-02-020 to allow identification of three satellite series: Meteosat Third Generation (MTG), EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation (EPS-SG), Meteor-M N2, and Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS)

It is proposed to add three entries to BUFR Code Table 0-02-020 to allow identification of three satellite series: Meteosat Third Generation (MTG), EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation (EPS-SG), Meteor-M N2, and Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS)

Detailed proposal

Add entries as follows:
EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS-SG): 62
METEOSAT Third Generation Programme (MTG): 334
Meteor-M N2: 352
Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS): 405

I should also like to add an entry to 0-02-020 for the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS). It is used for the creation of radio occultations, but whilst we have entries in 0-02-020 for GPS (401), GLONASS (402), GALILEO (403), and BDS (BeiDou navigation satellite system) (404), there is nothing for QZSS yet.
Please add entry 405 for QZSS (Quasi-Zenith Satellite System)
