# Welcome to Write the Docs Portland 2024

We officially have arrived at conference week. We hope you are as excited as we are! We still [have tickets available](https://www.writethedocs.org/conf/portland/2024/tickets/) if you are able to join us.

This email includes a few updates for those not attending, and all the information that is useful if you are!

## Livestream

If you are unable to attend the conference in person, we will be broadcasting all the main stage presentations on April 15 and 16 on our [Livestream page](https://www.writethedocs.org/conf/portland/2024/livestream/).

If you watch the livestream and get value from it, we have an optional ticket you can purchase. It has a suggested price of $50, but you're welcome to pay what you can.

Join the #wtd-conferences channel on Slack to connect with other remote attendees, ask questions, and troubleshoot technical issues with the stream. We are excited that folks can watch the conference talks from anywhere in the world with an internet connection!

## Thanks to our Sponsors!

We wanted to share a message from [GitBook](https://www.gitbook.com/?ref=writethedocs), one of our top sponsors:

---

GitBook combines powerful docs with AI-powered search and insights to give technical writers, developers and teams a single source of truth for their documentation. From keeping your documentation in sync with your codebase through two-way Git Sync to quickly finding and fixing outdated info with AI, GitBook makes it effortless to create, surface and improve documentation that your users and teams will love.

And if you need private documentation for specific users or groups? No problem! With visitor authentication you can easily protect access to your published docs so only your chosen customers, team members or authorized users can view your content.

Check out [gitbook.com](https://www.gitbook.com/?ref=writethedocs) or come see us at Write the Docs Portland to learn more (and grab some epic swag)!

### Review the Schedule

[Register with a ticket.](https://ti.to/writethedocs/write-the-docs-portland-2024/with/hike-ticket) Optional lunch meet up at 12:30pm. Hike at 2pm.

**Lead or contribute to a project at Writing Day on Sunday.** We already have six awesome [Writing Day](https://www.writethedocs.org/conf/portland/2024/writing-day/) projects that have signed up, and more incoming! If you have a project you want to lead, you can always sign up day of.

**Join us at our opening Welcome Reception Sunday evening from 5-7pm.** Pick up your badge and enjoy a couple of drinks and snacks on us. Meet attendees before the conference starts, and skip the Monday morning check-in rush!

**Attend our speaker talks on Monday and Tuesday!** Have you looked at our schedule and selected the talks you want to attend? [View our lineup here.](https://www.writethedocs.org/conf/portland/2024/speakers/)

**Lead or attend an Unconference session.** Want to chat with like-minded folks about a very specific topic? The [Unconference](https://www.writethedocs.org/conf/portland/2024/unconference/) is your place. Sessions are all day Monday and Tuesday, and sign ups to lead a session begins on Sunday.

**Sign up for a Lightning Talk.** These are 5-minute presentations where you share an idea, concept, or topic you are passionate about with the audience. **Don't miss out on our Monday Conference Party, happening from 6:30-8:30pm!** It's an opportunity to connect with fellow attendees outside of the scheduled programming. We'd love to see a redo of the epic sticker table that happened last year (wink, wink). There will be a few games, along with complimentary snacks and beverages, including non-alcoholic options. Join us across the street from the venue at Grand Fir Brewing (1403 SE Stark St).

If you are unable to attend a speaker talk, we will be broadcasting all the main stage presentations on April 15 and 16 on our [**Live Stream page**](https://www.writethedocs.org/conf/portland/2024/livestream/). Please don't watch it on the conference WiFi though, so that we can ensure it remains fast for everyone at the venue.
