Can't open on Mac 11.6

I am not able to open the application in 11.6. Apple says it can't check for malicious software.

I just had that problem.

Important part:

To override your security settings and open the app anyway follow these steps:

In the Finder on your Mac, locate the app you want to open.

Don’t use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.

Control-click the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu.

Click Open.

The app is saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it just as you can any registered app.

I'm getting this error as well and while the workaround shared earlier is valid, it would be ideal to have this fixed by making sure the dev is identified instead.

Unfortunately, the workaround doesn't work for me.

You should be able to workaround by holding control while opening the app. Closing as duplicate of #1046.

Ctrl open not worked. Popup window with error even click on open anyway

If control open doesn't work (like it didn't for me), run the following in your terminal:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Kap.app
