Audio/Video playback not working properly sometimes, only really fixable by restarting system #1809
Comments
I think it is the first time I see PipeWire setting the quantum size (latency) so ridiculously low. The logs show that higher values were also used but 16 is really weird. In its default configuration the minimum quantum PipeWire should be using is Maybe after a PipeWire update it started to handle its automatic latency switching in a weird way in your computer. Something you may try is editting PipeWire's configuration to force a more reasonable "everyday quantum size" like |
since setting i guess it fixed it, will come here again if it happens to happen again |
I think I'm having the same issue here. Youtube videos just sit there looking like it's a network issue. But dis- and re-enabling the audio source in EE fixes it - at least for that video. I usually have to do it again for the next one, unless I restart the whole audio stack (wireplumber pipewire pipewire-pulse) and then the browser, too. Looks like an initialisation issue to me. The moment I disable the problematic audio source, a 2nd one comes up in the list, which is weird, too. I'm on Fedora 36, EE 6.3 Flatpak, Pipewire 0.3.59-1, Wireplumber 0.4.12-1. |
EasyEffects Version

What package are you using?
Arch (easyeffects)
Distribution
Arch Linux
Describe the bug
sometimes, when i start my PC and try to watch a video or something, the audio and video playback doesnt work properly.
if i kill easyeffects it starts to work correctly. restarting easyeffects or restarting the entire pipewire/wireplumber stack doesnt fix the issue, only restarting the PC and hoping that it doesnt happen again works.
this has been happening to me for the last couple weeks, after i changed some settings in wireplumber, but since then i have completely reinstalled pulseaudio/pipewire/wireplumber and reset any changes i made in the settings. maybe the timing just happened to be at the same time i got an easyeffects update or something
Expected Behavior
easyeffects doesnt stop my audio&video playback
