tried installing on ubuntu 16.04 , did change config file accordingly, error still occur, could you kindly assist

Are you trying to build with docker or without the docker? There was a change recently to include a docker version which could cause conflict in the original script. If you were trying this from latest commit, can you checkout commit 5ac8357 and try again?

5ac8357 is the commit before we introduced the change.

tried 5ac8357, unable to compile mongoc

i upgraded to ubuntu 18 to test as well, both latest commit and 5ac8357, both still gives me the same error as the first one
