Welcome to the PinCab.Configurator wiki!

Getting Started

Once you have downloaded the program extract to a location on your hard drive such as C:\PincabConfigurator.

Once you have launched the program (Pincab.Configurator.exe), set the paths to all the various pinball programs you have installed by going to File>>Settings.

See Settings for more information.

The minimum settings you should have setup are the following:

  1. B2S Screenres.txt
  2. At least one configuration from the Front End Tab
  3. The databases should all be pointing to the https://raw.githubusercontent.com/xantari/Ipdb.Database url's.

Landing Screen

  1. Clicking on a display in the displays list will draw a prieview with the defined regions you have defined.
  2. You should first define a playfield region and then define your backglass and DMD regions.
  3. Pick unique colors for each region.
  4. Be sure to give the "Display Label" a meaningful label. For instance if your backglass contains both the DMD and backglass call it "Backglass & DMD" for 2 screen setups.
  5. The "Save Display Config" button updates the display labels and region information on the associated display. This does not persist to the file system until you go to File >> Save Configuration. You will also be auto-prompted to save when it detects changes have been made in your screen configurations.

Backups

All configuration data is automatically backed up for you and placed in the \Backups folder in the installation directory.

Commands

It is recommended you first run the validation commands for each area. This will confirm you screen setup. You MUST setup your screen configurations first however such as defining your playfield, backglass, etc areas.

The Write commands will alter that particular programs screen configuration for you. Only run this after you have examined the validation results.

Command Line Switches

There are a few command line switches (and corresponding .bat files) to launch into specific parts of the program directly.

All switches are case sensitive.
