Ecological Uniqueness of lake Andean diatoms

This repository contains data and code to reproduce the main results and figures from the paper Spatial and temporal ecological uniqueness of Andean diatom communities are correlated with climate, geodiversity and long-term limnological change Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution (Metacommunity spatio-temporal dynamics special issue)

Rendered abstract and figures can be found at the BenitoetalLCBD_frontiers_abstract.R file in the paper folder.

Repository structure

  1. R scripts: code for running all the statistical analyses in a logical order
  2. Data: raw datasets (core and modern diatom counts, lake's physico-chemistry and geodiversity predictors) to be read in R scripts
  3. Figures: plots resulting from analyses in R scripts
  4. Hyde: downloaded historical human occupation time series from History Database of the Global Environment (HYDE, v 3.2.1) Klein Goldewijk et al. (2017), Earth Syst. Sci. Data, 9, 927-953
  5. Paper: abstract and figures. Knit the file BenitoetalLCBD_frontiers_abstract.R
  6. Results: secondary datasets resulting from primary statistical analyses in R scripts
