Kodi crash on some rarfiles

I have one tv-series that is a bit old and kodi always crasches when i try to update the metadata. If I remove the folder kodi scans fine. I have the logfile and the rars so you can fix it :)

I see on your log no crash and Kodi seems to close normal, mean you with crash a freeze of something?

Can you give me a Link via mail to alwinus@kodi.tv about the tv series, to see what exact goes wrong with them.

It crashes on 69% every time. Tried all the metadata providers. Same. I can e-mail the files.

@faltaren Just curious what rar format version the archive was created with? I'm guessing not RAR5 since you say it's old? Could you check the file info in WinRAR > Tools > Show information and share the details? Also could you make sure it passes the WinRAR archive integrity check? WinRAR > Commands > Test archived files

Its rar 4.x. The test had no errors. Version to extract is 2.0. Host OS windows.

my current version is 2.2.3, this is on nvidia shield, trying to update, but it doesn't seem to find any, im on leia 18.6

Started to make a check with some TBytes of RAR's, what I see about logs there are mostly by Windows, maybe something there not correct.

I hope that by several 1000 of RAR's I see exact what happens.

Give me an ftp so i ca upload a episode of pippi. I have tested with only one ep it crashes anyway.

I have the same problem on Nvidia shield, random crashes, usually on huge ISO-files like 4k at more than 40+ GB

I have sent him a crash log as well, no respons yet

Was gone down the last days by other things, I look now to fix.

Has reproduced the fault, there it has tried to seek below 0 where then the unrar lib has sayed no.

Should be better after:

I do now a run check by around 1TB of RAR's let see what comes.
