Rolling menus are broken

Bug Description

When pausing the game you end up getting a black screen.
I tested on my windows and Linus laptops to confirm it not an Intel specific issue.

Expected Behavior

The pause menu should be visable

This also affect the main menu after finishing a mission making the game unplayable on-till this issue fixed

Hey @Triticum0 would you mind grabbing an nv2a log from this game? I'm curious as to whether it may be the same problem as #670 (I'd be especially interested in any "unhandled" log lines)

Thanks! I don't see the same unhandled commands in that log so it seems that they may be unrelated issues.
