Boss bars are not invisible

Expected behavior

No bar located where WAILA is

Observed/Actual behavior

four grey bars (looks kinda like boss health bars or raid progress bars) where WAILA is located.
WAILA still works as expected displaying over the gray bars (other than pumpkin issue)

Additional context

all other plugin jars have been removed from server for this test
I have also attempted to disable WAILA to see things change, but the grey bars persist.
this immediately showed up after upgrading to 1.20.2
