I play on Ubisoft but downloaded the game via steam. After the update I had a message saying the mod loader did not match the game version.

I had downloaded the mod loader .dll version again to replace the updated version in my main Anno folder, as had been recommended in the above posts. This update is different however and did not fix the issue of the game not wanting to fully start.

So instead re-verified my game on steam and let it replace the mod loader .dll

Then I just pressed play.

It now comes up with a message to say Anno now supports mods itself. When you click continue in your game (I wanted to continue a saved game that I was playing with mods) up pops a list with all the mods in your folder and asks if you want to use them in your game. I made sure all mods said 'on' and continued my game. All my mods work and I can play the game with no issue.

At this time I have not needed to reinstall the mod loader .dll at all as Anno is now loading mods itself.

I tried your way but did not get the same result after verifying, the mods did not load nor did I get any popup messages telling me Anno now supports mods nor did I see any list.

After selecting Anno 1800 in Ubi connect, clicking the Verify files button in the properties will restore it. After running Anno 1800 as it is, if you run the scenario, the MOD selection window will be exposed and the MOD will be applied.

You MUST connect online, restart Ubi connect for good measure.

Verify integrity of files. ONLY copy _ubi.dll from the mod loader. So you should have the legit python35.dll with the modloader's python35_ubi.

When you launch into Anno, the menu should give a EULA for modding, accept that. If that mod Eula doesn't appear, the ingame mod manager will not show.
After that, when trying to start a new scenario, after clicking a difficulty, it'd show the mod manager.

Hi - please can someone give me an idiots guide step by step.. My game has updated - I've verified files then replaced the modloader ubi file thingy, but now my game just crashed.
Verified files again and it will run, but without mods :( I don't get any pop up stating allow mod files etc. I've re-started half a dozen times and can't get it to run with mods. Please help a dummy....

@cos155 too many duplicates for the same thing, see also here
I have renamed python35_ubi.dll to python35.dll and it worked for me.
