[Feature Request] Exporting models with racial scaling #406
Comments
What's the intended use case for this? As-stands, the model io is primarily designed around mod authoring, and I didn't see much value in scaling for the purposes of iteration on mods - xande/meddle are more in the vein of supporting export for external rendering. that said, I'm not much of a mod author, so I'm intrigued in potential use cases in case there's something there to support. |
If you wanted to, for example, upscale the female model for a glove to use Bibo's hands, it would be much easier to have the female scaled model as a starting point. When the female version does not have its own unique model and scales the male model instead, you would need to be able to apply the racial scaling on export to get the right version of the model. |
m, that aligns with what some others have said. noted, i'll have a look and see how involved it'll be. |
2ndary use case would be exporting 2 different mods to combine into one mod (such as joining a separate ear and tail mod together). If the scaling was off on one piece this would be not possible |
TexTools has a configuration to set which race to use when applying racial scaling to models that do not have a unique model for each race. In Penumbra (as far as I can tell), you can only export the base model. It would be useful to be able to select a race to apply its racial scaling.
