I'd love to keep Firefox running like a background service, without any indication that it's running. Gnome doesn't have a system tray, and I think that is fine, because I need no indicators for all my background services. If I want to open Thunderbird, I can just do it.

However, installing this extension makes Thunderbird minimise when you click the close button. It still appears in alt+tab and in the window overview. I'd love to have it not there, and as far as I understand the description, this is what this extension is meant to do.

I have the same issue on Fedora 36 KDE, which has system tray.
Thunderbird 102.2.0 (64-bit) (installed via flatpak)

Confirmed on Ubuntu 20.04, Unity desktop.

There is nothing OS-specific in the JS code, so I suspect that's the default behavior when using the basic API...
