This doesn't seem like the ideal solution. The way VRTNu works has changed. |

Sure, but it makes it work, and it is currently broken. Looking at the amount if issues that are created for this, I guess a fix is welcome? |

The pull-request I referred to fixes the issue aswell in a more future
proof way.

This PR fixes issue #17701, #18415 and #18414 and some more. VRT is providing invalid urls, that need to be rewritten.
