About Me :

I am a Scientist in Quantitative Genetics at Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC, NZ).

  • 🌍 EMABG program (2013-2015: WUR-BOKU)

  • 🎓 Ph.D. (magna cum laude) in animal breeding and genetics, University of Hohenheim, Germany (06/09/2018).

    Financially supported by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG): Entwicklung von genomweiten Selektionsmethoden zur genetischen Konsolidierung von Nutztierpopulationen.

    Doctoral thesis title: Selection methods for local breeds with historical introgression.

    The thesis has won the PhD dissertation award from the German Society for Animal Production. DGfZ 2019 Förderpreis

  • 🥝 Based in Hamilton, New Zealand, with my partner and our fur baby 🐱

  • 🧬 My research interests are quantitative genetics, genetic diversity, population genetics, genomics, etc. My current challenge is optimal use of whole-genome sequence data in dairy cattle breeding, especially in the crossbred population.
