Device Trigger for Aqara wireless mini switch #472

I've an Aqara wireless mini switch discovered and configured in Home Assistant and using HA automation like this example to execute actions.

This will turn on one of lights when the button is pressed a single time.

Now I'm trying to create a nodered flow to do something similar, but somehow it seems that the flow is not working.

Last step 8 fixed it.

Sorry for being such a noob on how to get this working.

Are there any errors in the NR logs or debug panel? Does it say registered under the node after you deploy? If you remove the msg.flow from the output properties does it work?

I removed the msg.flow output too.

Next I tried to trigger the flow by pressing the Aqara wireless mini switch button.

Nothing happens. Also no new logs to NodeRed and no output to debug.

The reason why nothing happens in NR when you press the button is that the device node is not registering the trigger with HA. Why this is happening I am not sure at the moment. If it was you would see the status under the node change from running to registered. One reason would be that you don't have the custom integration installed in HA. If you have it installed you could try turning on debugging for it and see if the registration is coming through in HA. Do you see this at the top of the device node when you edit it?

I installed the custom integration as you suggested.

This what I now see in the flow for the device.

And I added the following to the NodeRed Configuration.

What next?

is for your HA config but you don't need it.

If you're still seeing the banner about needing the custom integration when you edit the device node you haven't fully-added to HA.

Did you complete steps 6-8 of the installation guide? https://github.com/zachowj/hass-node-red#installation
After the custom integration is loaded correctly in HA you will need to redeploy the device node or restart NR.
