Perfect Flour Tortillas

This recipe is courtesy of Cynthia Detterick-Pineda at Whats Cooking America.

Yields: Approximate 15 tortillas Prep time: 15 min

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 to 6 tablespoons lard or vegetable shortening
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water (approximate)

If you follow the instructions provided, your tortillas will turn out perfectly - hence the name.

Make sure to follow the handling methods and resting times closely. They can make or break the texture.
