0.2.5 is 2 years old (see #62), can you try the latest master branch version? The bracket coloring is coming from vscode itself.

I'm having the same issue. Both 0.2.5 and master versions are affected. It is probably caused by some change in VS Code. I'm running Code OSS 1.71.1 on Arch. Formatting and highlighting of build errors is working, only the syntax highlighting is broken.

I was running an older version, after updating I'm seeing the same issue. It seems to have been caused by ac25b33 but reverting it hasn't fixed it so far.

Never mind, I was running a second version of the extension. Fixed by 6505d8f cc @LitoMore
