Zotonic 1.0 Hackday

We’ve planned a Zotonic 1.0 Hackday for September the 23rd! 🌟 🎆 🎈

Everyone is invited to together hack on Zotonic, share ideas, have a beer, etc. 💡🍻 There will be issues for both experts and beginners to work on. The core Zotonic dev team will be present to help out. Location will be in the centre of Amsterdam (either at Driebit or Hackers & Founders). The goal is to take a significant step towards a stable release by solving as many issues as we can.

Let’s make 2016 the year of Zotonic 1.0! 😄

Ideas:

For Erlangers

• dialyzer (Run dialyzer on Travis CI #1322)
• error & access logs (Re-add error and access logs #1406)
• Binaryfication / cowboy
• Remove acl_rsc_update_check (Remove acl_rsc_update_check notification #1381)
• Add tests for template filters (Add tests for all (template) filters #1303)

For language experts

• Add support for language variations like zh-hk (Add support for language variations like zh-hk #499)
• move translations to single file Translations: easier translation by combining modules in one .po file #858
• Add parameters to translation strings (Add parameters to translation strings #608)

For JavaScript experts

• Replace JQuery with plain JS (ubf.js requires jQuery #908)
• Figure out and document supported browsers (Doc: add supported browsers page #1100)

For writers

• improve missing and faulty translations (Language & spelling issues in Admin interface driebit/ginger#7)
• Improve documentation (Improve documentation #1123)
• Update docs for 1.0 (Update documentation for 1.0 #1399)
• improve coding standards (Improve coding standards #1275)
• Document custom filters (Add documentation on creating a custom filter #966), external services (Document that social logins need values set in "App Keys & Authentication Services" #910), m.config (The documentation for m_site mistakenly suggests that you can query config variables via m_site #709)
• document MQTT topics (Document existing mqtt topics used in zotonic. #1341)

For search experts

• Unified search (Add connection: Unified object search #1168)
• Improve search results relevance and ranking

For Ops experts

• Letsencrypt - all Zotonic installs default on SSL
• HSTS headers (There should be a way to set HSTS headers #1329)
• Remove Bash dep (Unbashify all the scripts #1365)
