Launch the Zowe V3 Conformance Program

Introduce the Zowe V3 Conformance Program on, or as close as possible to the V3 LTS release scheduled for 9/30/2024.
Open pre-application process on 8/30

Deliverables include:

• (1) OMP / render V3 badges

  • for all existing core component categories

    • API Mediation Layer
    • App Framework
    • CLI
    • Explorer for Visual Studio Code

  • for NEW core components

    • Explorer for IntelliJ
    • Client SDK

• (2) OMP / update existing conformance program websites

    • Verbiage to be revised:
      • The current version of Zowe Conformance is ZOWE V3, which covers Zowe version 3 and later. The previous Zowe Conformance ZOWE V2 Program covers Zowe v2 version 2.0 - 2.15. The Zowe v1 program covers Zowe version 1.9 - 1.28. The Zowe Conformance 2019 program covers Zowe version 1.0 through 1.8. NOTE: Zowe v1 support terminates on 9/30/2024.

      • The current version of the Zowe Support Provider Conformance program is ZOWE V3, which covers the Zowe version 3 for all continuous delivery releases. The previous Zowe Support Provider Conformance programs are: ZOWE V2 and ZOWE V1. NOTE: Zowe v1 Community Support terminates on 9/30/2024. Please contact your Zowe Conformant Support Provider for requests to extend support requirements.
    • Add the NEW Badges for support providers:
      • Explorer for IntelliJ Zowe V3
      • Client SDK Zowe V3

• (3) OMP / update existing conformance landscape to include v3

• (4) OMP provide appropriate links to PRIOR conformance programs

Onboarding met with Yarille & Tom from OMP to review the above tasks.

Target for NEW badges: initial rendering of the V3 badges by mid-August (~8/19).
Design of NEW badges: We agreed to try to modify the badges (slightly) so that consumers can quickly see a difference between v2 and v3 badges.

V3 Conformance Program Pre-application: Onboarding will work with @jmertic and @jp669844 to determine when we can offer applications for v3 conformance (note: this is not dependent on any of the changes in this issue - can be an independent effort provided the TEST CRITERIA is final and up-to-date). @RASakach to confirm.
