WHAT

As per title

WHY

Thanks to you guys, this product is used by a lot of people. But zplug has a lot of space to be improved and some problems versus other tools. Now this zplug is mainly maintained by only me. So wanted!

Hello, I saw you wanted to build a website for the future of this project. I could give a hand for this.

I'm not a zsh pro, but I might have time for some docs/website/small fixes.

Happy to see you coming back to maintain this project !

Yeah, I had a website for this project before... zplug.sh but it had been expired because of my mistakes 😞

I'm not a zsh pro, but I might have time for some docs/website/small fixes.

Cool

Hi there, I'm a new zplug user (just moving over from OMZ), and would love to help. Any sense of priorities etc?

@b4b4r07 Is there anything I can do for you and zplug? I guess I can handle CI/tests.
EDIT: look at #551.

@b4b4r07 Imho, this project would also benefit from one or two more maintainers. In this case, being a "maintainer" doesn't necessarily mean contributing code any more often than other volunteers. It means responding to new issues, reviewing pull requests, and helping other volunteers.

In other words, there are 27 unmerged pull requests, so there are potential contributors. If you drew up some guidelines, I could review a couple for you. Just let me know if you would be available to merge them.

Are there any news about this, @b4b4r07? Every now and then I check around for alternatives to zplug and I'm always discouraged to see that most of them are single-person projects that don't add much to what zplug already offers, except for active development. Quite a few of them have been started and abandoned (tarjoilija/zgen#123, getantibody/antibody#384), so there is little incentive to adapt my dotfiles to them.

I really like zplug and it keeps working really well, if not for a few hiccups, after years of close to no development. I see that there is an intention to not let this project die (as per #536, #538 and this thread) but, as @binyamin points out, it seems that you adding an active maintainer to merge existing contributions would do a lot of good to the project short-term.

I hope you consider this possibility @b4b4r07!

Thank you for commenting and sorry to have kept you and all users waiting.

I didn't know that 😮

Well, it's a bit difficult to maintain this repo because my motivation is really getting low rather than before. But I have still a motivation to manage my plugins and commands by something like zplug things. So I have published my private repo "afx". It's like zplug, a package manager for CLI. It had been a private repo a long time because it's difficult to get a time to maintain as OSS. But I finally have published because I want to solve these kinda issue such as "keeping and maintaining packages for CLI" somehow.

I'm still thinking about what to do about this repo. But I don't want to archive this repo because I really know the fact that there're a lot of users which want to use this tool.

Anyway, if there're those who don't know what to use about CLI package management, please refer this site: https://b4b4r07.github.io/afx

When I start Terminal.app, I get an error message that "lib/termsupport" could not be loaded.

The same error is reported in an Issue of "zplug", which was reported in June 2020, but has not yet been commented on.

- zplug/zplug#550

"zplug" has not been maintained for years. The latest git commit was in February 2020, and there have been no commits for almost two years.
The author says it no longer has the motivation to maintain "zplug" and is developing other CLI tool similar to.

At first I thought about switching to that tool, but as I searched the web for alternative tools, "sheldon" seemed better to me.
The loading time seemed fast, and one of the deciding factors was that it could be installed using Homebrew.
