Occasional stalling a few seconds while opening a file #5
Comments
Hmm, that's not something I've seen... Can you provide more details? Is it only when opening the app with a file, or only when opening files with the app already open? Does it matter what file/content is currently loaded? Does it happen in other (Qt) apps, or just qtextpad? |
Not sure, but more likely during the first launch. File or content does not matter. The currently loaded file/content doesn't matter either. It does not happen in other Qt apps. Launching from xterm doesn't output any warning or error. This is what I get without any issue with all the Qt apps because of my configs:
By the way, there's no shortcut keys for Replace. |
This doesn't happen for some time. |
It happens with .xml (kf5 syntax highlighting) files. |
Do you have a specific XML file you can reproduce this on? I tried a few kf5 syntax definition files and didn't see any issues... |
Sorry, it works here now as well. When a few times it has stalled, without further trial, I thought… Something must have triggered it, but what? I've got a few custom/customized syntax files and had to edit one of them. Before or after that it happened. Not sure… Feel free to close. If I catch it I'll inform you. |
This doesn't happen any more. |
I'm hoping that the removal of libmagic made an improvement here. Please re-open if you still see this issue with qtextpad 1.3 or later... |
No issue here for a long time. |
Sometimes up to 5-6 seconds. It's not related to file type; it even happens with empty new files –sometimes.
