When I click on the first character of a document, aka the top left corner, the cursor does not move. I have to click right next to it and use an arrow key. This does not happen in Nano.

Commit hash: 2.0.13 (that was the output of "micro -version")
OS: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Terminal: GNOME Terminal

You mean click with the left mouse button, right? It works for me: clicking on the first character of a file moves the cursor to this character, as expected. I've checked that on 2.0.13 it works as well.

Maybe some of your settings or installed plugins make it not work. Does it still not work if you run micro with -config-dir / parameter (i.e. with a non-existing config dir instead of ~/.config/micro/, to force using default settings and disabling any plugins)?

Apparently it's because I turned off ruler. It only works with ruler on

Ok, I can reproduce it and found the cause. Fixed in #3355.

Even by knowing the PR I'm not able to reproduce the issue, especially since no tab was mentioned so far.

Just open some file in micro, disable the ruler and disable the diffgutter, and then try to click on the first character in the buffer (i.e. the top left corner of the screen).

Disabling the diffgutter too did the trick to reproduce the issue here as well.
Thank you for the hint!
