Ubuntu

This has to be done only with new setup and new computer. In Ubuntu, go to Dash (Ubuntu logo in upper left corner) and type Displays.

  • Set rotation and position of the displays to match your physical setup (do not mirror). You will probably need to change the rotation of the projector display to 180 Degrees. Alternatively, rotation can be sometimes set directly on the projector.
  • Turn off sticky edges.
  • In Launcher placement select only the built-in display so that the side bar on the projected screen does not show up and take any space.

Set desktop background to something non-distracting:

  • In Ubuntu, go to Appearance (type Appearance in Dash) and in look set background to Colors and Gradients to set solid color, for example grey.
