Hotkeys

As of version 0.63, a new hotkey system has been added. By going to the main menu, then the options menu, and then pressing the "Hotkeys" button will take you to the new hotkey assignment window.

The following hotkeys are currently available default key assignments in CorsixTH. Note that this page refers to the latest revision of CorsixTH, any key with a git commit or tag in brackets after it may not be available to you if you are running an old version of CorsixTH, e.g. the latest beta that was released a few months ago.

Remember, all these keys represent the default assignments. They can be changed, and as such, if you change the "Up" and "Down" scroll key to something like "W" and "S", all other functions will reflect that. As in, the "Up / Down arrows" in the "Drug Casebook" window will now be "W and S".

Global Keys

These hotkeys can always be used.

Key	Effect
ALT + F4	Exit the application.
SHIFT + F10	Reset the application.
CTRL + S	Take a screenshot.
CTRL + F10	Toggles whether or not the application can capture the mouse, locking it within the game window.
E	This is the alternative "Confirm" key. It does the same as pressing "Enter". For convienence when using WASD as scrolling keys.
Q	This is the alternative "Cancel" key. It does the same as pressing "Esc".

General In-Game Keys

Used when in-game.

Key	Effect
ESC	Shows or hides the menu bar at the top of the game screen.
SHIFT + S	Opens the "Save Game" window.
SHIFT + L	Opens the "Load Game" window.
J	Opens the jukebox window, where you can select a song to play.
M	Opens the first fax message (if any are waiting).
ALT + SHIFT + S	Quick save.
ALT + SHIFT + L	Quick load.
SHIFT + R	Restarts the current level.
SHIFT + Q	Quits the current level.

Scroll Keys

These scroll the camera while in-game.

Key	Effect
Arrow Keys	These move the camera up, down, left, or right.
SHIFT + Arrow Key	When holding this key while pressing an arrow key, the camera will move faster.

Zoom Keys

For zooming in and out at different speeds.

Key	Effect
= or +	Zooms in the camera.
-	Zooms the camera out.
SHIFT + Zoom In or Out	Zooms the camera in or out even more. 5 times more, in fact.

Game Speed Keys

These keys set the speed of the game.

Key	Effect
P	Pauses the game.
1	Slowest.
2	Slower.
3	Normal.
4	Max.
5	And then some.
z	Speeds up the game for as long as the key is held. (r2616)

Misc. In-Game Keys

Uncategorized in-game keys.

Key	Effect
SPACE	Rotates the current object that is being placed.
H	Sends the currently selected patient home. Say hello to your mother for me!
X	Makes the walls transparent so you can see what's behind them. (from git merge (r2616) and on debug mode is no longer required)

Toggle Keys

These toggle certain things on and off, like music or sound.

Key	Effect
ALT + A	Toggles announcements.
ALT + S	Toggles sound effects.
ALT + M	Toggles music.
SHIFT + A	Toggles the little advisor doctor in the corner of the in-game screen.
I	Turn off the Information boxes on new rooms.

Debug Keys

These can only be used or changed while the game is in debug mode.

Key	Effect
CTRL + C	Connects the application to the Lua DBGp server.
F12	Opens the Lua console.
SHIFT + D	Runs the debug script.
F11	Shows the cheat menu.
CTRL + D	Dumps the log to a text file.
CTRL + T	Dumps strings.

Panel Keys

These keys open up the in-game panels, like the bank manager or the "Build Room" window.

F3	Manage staff.
F4	Town map.
F5	Casebook.
F6	Research.
F7	Status.
F8	Charts.
F9	Policy.
F	Build room.
G	Furnish corridor.
V	Edit room.
B	Hire staff.

Alternate Panel Keys

These are just a couple of alternate panel keys. Some of them are holdovers from the DOS version of Theme Hospital.

T	Town map.
R	Research.
C	Casebook.
SHIFT + C	Casebook.

Recall Position Keys

These set and recall the camera position. For instance, if you have the camera over the ward, you can press "ALT + 2". Then, when you move away from that area, you can press "CTRL + 2", if will instantly teleport you back to the ward.

Key	Effect
ALT + 0 through 9	Stores the current position of the camera, according to the number pressed.
CTRL + 0 through 9	Restores the position of the camera to where it was previously set, according to the number pressed.

Window Specific Hotkeys

These hotkeys can be used if a specific window is currently opened.

Furnish Corridor

Key	Effect
Shift + Click	Increase/decrease item quantity by 5
Ctrl + Click	Increase/decrease item quantity by 10

Edit Room / Place Objects Window

Key	Effect
Esc or Q	Cancel (go back one step)
Enter or E	Confirm (advance one step, if possible)

Bank Manager

Key	Effect
Ctrl + Click	Increase/decrease loan by maximum amount

Queue Window

Key	Effect
Shift + Click	Increase/decrease maximum queue size by 5
Ctrl + Click	Increase/decrease maximum queue size by 10

Drug Casebook

Key	Effect
Left / Right arrows	Decrease/increase cost of the selected disease
Up / Down arrows	Navigate up/down in the list
Shift + Click	Increase/decrease treatment charge 5% at a time
