EvanBD has come up with a way to implement microblogging over Freenet efficiently, particularly searching for stuff both by user and by hashtag.

This is closely related to IRC over Freenet. In fact, it would be possible to create an IRC view of the Fritter posts simply by treating #hashtags as channel names.
